How to Compress Files?

As it is clear from the name that its all about reducing the size of files. Size reduction don’t mean to modify files.The files remain the same but the their memory size is reduced.

Why we need to compress files?

We need to compress files because it decrease the memory size of files.And this decrease in their memory can be beneficial in many ways.For example , you need to email 50 Microsoft word files to a friend , you can compress them and attach them in email as a single zip file. Similarly if you want to make a backup (back up is an extra copy) of your important files. You can select all the important files and zip/compress them ,this will reduce the files size.You can also compress the data which is important for you but you don’t require them right now Folders Cant be emailed , but they can be compressed and then you can attached them in your email. A folder which may contain many sub folders, A sub folder may contain many files .It is tech- not possible to attach one folder by mail, rather to compress it.

Manage your Attachments.

If you have to attach too many files via e-mail, compress them in one zip file and save your time.Multimedia files compression. Please keep in mind that if you are going to zip/compress your DVD movies , or any kind of video files , its not beneficial at all.There are other methods to compress movie files. But adding them into a zip compressed archive is useless.Similarly “most of the” image files are not compressed by zipping them. For example bmp files can be compressed , but compressing GIF, JPG files is useless.
